Proposal Writing Training

In July and August 2024, CDEMA partnered with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF) and other partners to deliver a series of training workshops on Proposal Writing.

The training aimed to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills for preparing proposals to mobilise funding for community-level DRM/CCA activities..

Course Learning Outcome

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Demonstrate the practical skills needed to formulate effective project proposals that address climate-related risk specific to their local community in order to mobilise funding.

 

Primary Audience

  • Community Based Organisations (CBOs) and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in in CDEMA Participating States and CDB Member Borrowing Countries (BMCs).
  • National Disaster Management Organisations (NDMOs) in CDEMA Participating States

The workshops were held in Jamaica and Guyana, with support from the 11th European Development Fund - Building the Resilience of the CARIFORUM States to Disaster Risks and Climate Change Impacts (BRICS) Programme, the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI) and an ongoing partnership with the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP) implemented by the United Nations Development Programme and the CCRIF SPC (formerly the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility (CCRIF).
