Two new courses have been added to the Regional Training Centre (RTC) Moodle Learning Management System (LMS).
The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), in partnership with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), is developing of a series of self-paced, online emergency and humanitarian logistics operations (ELO) training modules designed specifically for supporting humanitarian response operations in the Caribbean. The courses have been developed in line with the WFP’s strategic objectives to promote capacity strengthening activities on disaster preparedness and management, and to support CDEMA in improving regional and national operational readiness of logistics, relief and warehouse management processes.
The courses cover nine (9) modules:
- Module 1: Needs Assessments
- Module 2: Sourcing & Shipping of Humanitarian Cargo
- Module 3: Customs and Forwarding
- Module 4: Warehouse Management
- Module 5: Delivery of Humanitarian Goods
- Module 6: Distribution of Humanitarian Goods
- Module 7: Pest Management
- Module 8: Air Operations
- Module 9: Marine & Port Operations
The courses are available in English and Dutch. The content is suitable for a range of profiles, from low operational to executive level and can be taken in any order or combination of modules.
