STITUATION OVERVIEW:
The Chairman of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), The Honourable Leon Lundy, Minister of State in the Office of the Prime Minister of the Bahamas with responsibilities for Disaster Risk Management, arrived in Kingston, Jamaica today as part of a High-Level Mission, following the impact of Hurricane Melissa. The Bahamas delegation delivered a consignment of relief supplies on behalf of the government and people of the Bahamas, representing the first part of a pledge of up to two million dollars to support recovery and rebuilding efforts in Jamaica.
