Hurricane Dorian began impacting The Commonwealth of Bahamas on Sunday, September 1, 2019 making landfall at Elbow Cay, Abacos Islands at approximately 12:40 p.m.
The devastation is reported to be unprecedented and extensive, with many homes, businesses and other buildings completely or partially destroyed. Hotels and houses were among those destroyed.
The CDEMA Coordinating Unit has continued to support the Bahamas National response (as required) following the effects of Hurricane Dorian.
