According to the Technical Unit of Seismology, the 5.9 magnitude earthquake occurred at 8:12PM (Local Time) at a depth of 15.3km. The earthquake was located Latitude 20.04N and Longitude 72.98W at approximately 20 km WNW of Port-de-Paix, Haiti.
The following is a synopsis of the impact to lives and property based on Situation Report #2 as at 1:00pm October 7, 2018 from the NEOC, the Directorate of Civil Protection, Ministry of the Interior and Territorial Communities, Haiti. No external assistance has been requested by Haiti, however the CDEMA Coordinating Unit continues to monitor the situation and will provide updates as necessary.
