June 11th, 2024, Bridgetown, Barbados - The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) recently completed training in “Emergency Logistics and Humanitarian Relief and conducted a “Logistics Plan Development Workshop” with the Department for Disaster Management (DDM) in The Valley, Anguilla.
The World Food Programme (WFP) sponsored event took place between “May 27th and June 7th, 2024, and was a core component of logistics and relief preparedness, response operations and a critical part of the implementation process for the CDEMA Logistics and Relief Management system in the country.
National stakeholders responsible for emergency logistics were the key beneficiaries of the humanitarian relief training which was conducted with the aim of strengthening the emergency logistics capacity of Anguilla’s National Emergency Management System.
The development workshop helped to establish a governance framework and advance the national logistics management plan and relief management documentation such as logistics policy, donations management policy and warehousing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Anguilla.
