Bridgetown, Barbados Monday October 11, 2010 – (CDEMA) – CDEMA with the financial support of the Australian Government continues to provide direct technical assistance to Haiti following the devastating earthquake earlier this year.

The Haiti Technical Assistance Programme (HTAP), a desk established at the CDEMA Coordinating Unit (CDEMA CU) seeks to build capacity at Haiti’s Civil Protection Directorate (CPD) in specific areas.

Bridgetown, Barbados, October 7, 2007, (CDEMA) - US$562, 600 was donated by the Government of Brazil to the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) today. The funding will support Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) management and humanitarian assistance in CARICOM member states.

Speaking at the signing ceremony Ambassador Acquarone of Brazil, said the agreement is a demonstration of putting in practical terms (Brazil’s) intention to cooperate with CDEMA.
