Bridgetown, Barbados, April 19, 2012 (CDEMA) –The Attorney General and Minister of Home Affairs, Adriel Brathwaite will deliver the feature address at the opening ceremony of the Third Meeting of Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the Caribbean
Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) on April 26, at the Savannah Hotel in Barbados.

On Wednesday March 28th, the Department of Disaster Management executed their annual full scale Tsunami Exercise to test the Territory’s Early Warning and Notification Systems and to afford organizations and Government Departments the opportunity to test their own plans and procedures.  Since 2009, these annual exercises have been taking place during the month of March, and are held in conjunction with other localities in the Northwest Atlantic.

Bridgetown, Barbados, April 13, 2012 (CDEMA) – The annual training for the CARICOM Disaster Relief Unit (CDRU) will be held in Barbados from April 17-20. The workshop is being hosted jointly by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), the Regional Security System (RSS) and the United States Southern Command (US SOUTHCOM).
