Bridgetown, Barbados, November 17, 2011 (CDEMA) – The tourism sector disaster management programme will benefit from an Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) funded project to be officially launched in Barbados on Friday, November 18, 2011.  The US $750.000 grant will support the development of a regional monitoring, evaluation and reporting information system for the disaster risk management (DRM) and climate change adaptation in the Caribbean tourism sector.

Bridgetown, Barbados, November 10, 2011 (CDEMA) – CDEMA’s Executive Director, Jeremy Collymore is leading a CARICOM mission to Brazil to hold discussions on disaster risk reduction initiatives. The team of technical experts began the one week mission on Monday, 7 November aimed at exploring areas of strengthening cooperation in disaster risk management between the CARICOM States and Brazil.
